Your remote control just grew legs and sprinted behind the couch cushions again.
At least that's what it feels like when you're stumbling around at 6am looking for things that were definitely right there last night. The coffee mug you swore was on the counter. Your phone that somehow ended up in the bathroom. Those keys that apparently teleported into yesterday's jacket pocket.
People love blaming this stuff on ghosts or gremlins or some mysterious force that enjoys watching humans fumble around like confused zombies. But here's the thing nobody wants to admit - it's just the pre-coffee brain doing its thing.
Before that first proper cup hits your system, your brain is basically running on fumes and hope. You're operating at like 30% capacity. Which explains why you've put the milk in the pantry, the cereal in the fridge, and once somehow managed to lose your glasses while they were sitting on top of your head.
The pre-coffee fog is real and it turns regular humans into forgetful creatures who make bizarre decisions. Like putting your wallet in the freezer. Or leaving your shoes in completely different rooms like you were playing some weird treasure hunt game with yourself.
And the worst part is you won't even remember doing any of it because your brain wasn't actually awake yet. It was just your body wandering around on autopilot while your mind was still loading like a really slow computer from 1995.
If this morning chaos sounds painfully familiar and you're tired of blaming supernatural forces for your missing stuff, maybe it's time to actually fix the fog.
