They see the slow blink. The vacant stare at the counter. The heavy sigh that comes from somewhere deep in the soul. They've catalogued it. Filed it away. Cross-referenced it with every previous time that specific energy led to a car ride somewhere that smelled like roasted beans and desperation.
Your dog isn't psychic. They're just paying better attention than you are before your first cup.
