The draft folder is the digital equivalent of that thing you "definitely said out loud" but apparently only thought really loudly in your head. You were confident. Certain. Absolutely sure. And yet there it sits: unopened, unsent, judging you from its little folder like a passive-aggressive roommate.
This is what happens when you operate on pre-coffee logic. Your brain thinks it completed a task. Your fingers may have even hovered over the keyboard. But without that first cup in your system, reality and intention are basically two different time zones. And you are living in the wrong one.
The scary part is how convincing pre-coffee confidence actually is. You do not just think you sent the email, you would bet money on it. You would argue with someone about it. You have a clear memory of the moment it happened, except that moment never actually happened. Your brain just made it up and filed it under "done."
Scientists probably have a fancy term for this. Something Latin and impressive-sounding that explains why your uncaffeinated mind is essentially running a fake news operation inside your own skull. The rest of us just call it Tuesday morning.
The fix is embarrassingly simple. Coffee. Not complicated. Not revolutionary. Just a proper, no-nonsense cup of black coffee that gets your brain connected to your actual hands and the actual world around you.

Try their Yigarcheffe Edido (Ethiopian) … it rocks.
